









Ross Island
A short boat ride from Aberdeen Jetty reaches The Ross Island which was the seat of the British Administration. Important ruins include a Church, Cemetery, Swimming Pool and Chief Commissioner's residence. A small museum of Indian Navy, Smritika, has a good collection of old records.
Chatham Island
The chatham island is famous for the Chatham Saw Mill, one of the oldest and largest mills in Asia, built on a tiny island, is connected to Port Blair by a bridge. It is a store-house of timber like Padauk, Gurjan, Marble, Satin Wood, etc of the forest department. The island consists of wharf namely (chatham wharf) for connecting other neighbour islands through inter island shipping service.
Viper Island
Viper Island is very near to Port Blair and was the old Jail were British's used to jail the convicts.The island derives its name from the vessel ‘Viper’ in which Lt. Archibald Blair came to the islands in 1768 with the purpose of establishing a Penal Settlement. The vessel, it is believed, met with an accident and its wreckage was abandoned near the island.The Jail was abandoned when the Cellular Jail was constructed in 1906.The famous rebellion Sher Ali, who killed Lord Mayo the Viceroy of India in 1872, was also hanged here.
Samundrika Museum
Situated in the city Port Blair .This museum is meant to create awareness on various aspects of oceanic environment. A good collection of shells, corals and a few species of colourful fishes found in these islands are on display.
Cellular Jail
The British jailed freedom fighters who were fighting for the Independance of India back in colonial time.Each brick of the Jail speaks about the courage and truth of the freedom fighters.The Jail is now dedicated as a National Memorial.Also there is a Museum, an Art gallery and a Photo gallery. A famous tourist spot in Andaman Islands.
Carbyns Cove
Corbyn's Cove, 7 Kms., from the town, is the coconut-palm fringed beach, ideal for swimming, surfing and sun-basking. Facilities like water sports, restaurant and bar, change room, etc., are also available.The Waves Restaurant, The Peerless Resort nearby and the Hornbill Nest Guest House at a stone's throw, provide a kaleidoscopic view of the blue water front.
Radhanagar Beach
This Beach is one of the most beautiful beach of the world.It is located in Havelock Island and it is Asia's Best Beach and rated amongst world's top ten beaches.This beach is claimed by several as one of the most outstanding beaches left untouched. There are hardly any such destinations left for nature freaks across the globe. One can go for swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing and jungle trekking in havelock island.
Jolly Buoy Island
An island in Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, it offers a breath taking underwater view of coral and marine life. It is an ideal place for snorkeling, sea bathing and basking on the sun kissed beach. A famous tourist spot in Andaman Islands for corals.
Chidya Tapu Beach
Chidiyatapu is the southern most tip of South Andaman. The lush green mangroves, forest cover with numerous chirping birds and the Sylvan Sands and Mundapahar beaches make it an ideal picnic site. The forest guesthouse situated on top of a hillock provides a fabulous view of isolated islands, submerged corals and the breath-taking sunset.
Mount Harriet
The summer headquarters of the Chief Commissioner during British Raj, it is an ideal place for a nice and fascinating view of the sun, sea and sand. It is 365 meters high, the highest peak in the South Andamans. One can trek upto Madhuban through a nature trail and can find rare flora and fauna, endemic birds, animals and butterflies.
